I’ve been there.
I founded a mission-driven Spanish school in 2011, and in 2014 I had the idea for Café Puente, the nonprofit I now co-lead.
Today, Café Puente is a thriving community-based organization—and everything I’ve built has been done in close partnership with the community it serves.

My experience
In 2011, I founded a mission-driven Spanish school, California Bilingüe, which grew into my full-time work, a thriving community, and has impacted hundreds of students.
In 2014, I had the idea for Café Puente, the non-profit I now co-direct.
I didn’t know where to start, but I learned through doing—and with the guidance of countless mentors and community partners.
Along the way, I learned how to build programs people actually show up for, how to fundraise, and how to create something in authentic partnership with—and centering—the community it serves.
I also hold an MBA from Presidio Graduate School, focused on social entrepreneurship.
I eventually sold my Spanish school to focus fully on Café Puente.
Today:
Café Puente raised over $500,000 in 2025
Our events regularly draw 150–300+ people
We average 630+ monthly participant check-ins
